Finally! I welcome you to the Ducks on the Pond Blog!
I hope these articles and blogs bring you guys as much joy as I get when writing them! Please don't hesitate to provide any feedback you may have regarding any of the posts or just anything you would like to see me cover or talk about in general. You can reach me via the "Get in Touch" feature at the bottom of the home page, directly via email (at the bottom of each page - oppotacob@gmail.com),
X (baseballg00n), or on Instagram (baseballgoon_).
I not only want this to be your go to blog for all things baseball but also a place for us (the baseball fans of the world) to connect with one another, to share your opinions and value everyone else's! (If there is enough interest I would be open to creating a group and/or discord server to chat all things baseball).
Navigating The Site
Although it is pretty simple and straight forward, I figured I would breakdown how the site is intended to work.
Along the top of the site you will see HOME, ABOUT, BLOG.
HOME - Is just like any typical home page, you'll find a little bit more in depth message similar to what I have said above, as well as an FAQ section that I plan on updating over time as some question start rolling in, and then the "Get In Touch" section (also mentioned above) to reach out regarding anything. (Note: I am not 100% sure how well or if the 'Get in Touch' section actually works so if I don't respond back to you within a day or two reach out to me using direct email address at the very bottom in red).
ABOUT - Again nothing too crazy, honestly was just one of the pages that came with the site when I initially starting designing it and decided to keep it in. But there is another little blurb to kind of breakdown some stuff I am hoping to cover. (But things change and will honestly just do whatever feels right).
BLOG - Here is where you'll be able to lock in! When you click in you into the "BLOG" section, the first thing that will top up is the most recent posts, that way you can see the most recent stuff that you may have not read yet.
Then along the top you will see a few different topics such as:
MLB News
Here is where I will post articles/blogs regarding the entire MLB as a whole.
Example: Top 10 Players across the league at 'x' position, etc.
Performers of the Night
Is where you will find well, the performers of the night prior. This is where you can come to catch up on some notable outings or good nights at the dish that you may have missed because you were too busy watching your favorite team lose.
Fantasy Baseball
Anything you will need from rankings, predictions, sleepers, etc. in regards to fantasy will be posted here. Keep in mind, everything in regards to this stuff should be taken with a grain of salt as it will only be my honest opinions and advice, at the end of the day you are the managers our your teams and so you have the final decision in what ever it is you want to do. I will just be here to try my best to help you guys out along the way!
Injury Updates
Similar to 'Performers of the Night' you can come here to keep up to date with injuries that may have occurred, or even when guys are close/expected to be coming back. Ideally, in a perfect world I don't need to post in here as nobody likes seeing people get hurt but as we all know it is part of the game.
Dropdown Menu
Under the dropdown menu you will see all the divisions within the MLB. Here you can click into the respected division for the team you are wanting to read about (For example: If you are wanting to read about the Los Angeles Dodgers then you will click into the NL West). From here, you can go even further filter/search for the exact team "Dodgers" and that will then filter out all the other teams within the division and only show you the articles that have been posted regarding the LA Dodgers.
This should cover everything you really need to know on ho to navigate the site, it should hopefully make more sense once I get into posting more articles/blogs and populate things a bit more so that the stuff I explained above make more sense.
As mentioned at the start, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or feedback you may have! I am here to help and open to hearing any suggestions that you have!
Thanks and enjoy!
